Event description:
Start the day off right with early morning Tuesday meditation, 8:15 - 8:45 a.m.

Over the last several decades, science has been revealing what many ancient traditions have long known, that the benefits of practicing meditation are numerous and far-reaching. Some of the benefits of a regular meditation practice are: emotional well-being, improved concentration, decreased heart and respiratory rate, and increased compassion towards self and others.

During the morning meditation practitioners find a comfortable seat and any style of meditation may be practiced. No experience is necessary. This is a perfect opportunity for those looking to try meditation for the first time or for those with experience who are looking for a structured time to practice in a group.

The morning meditation is led by Danielle Casioppo, Health Educator for Being Well at Yale and certified yoga teacher at the Payne Whitney Gym. She is available beforehand to provide basic instruction and after to answer any questions that may arise.

If you can’t make it for the entire 30 minutes, come anyway! Just slip in and out of the room as quietly as possible.
