Interested in adding more strength and endurance into your life? This unique summer series will focus on building strength through basic, low-impact exercises that can help improve the range of movement, balance, and mobility which can impact quality of life by preventing injury. Each week will be a different combination of exercises that will build off of the last. Attending all 4 sessions will be most beneficial.
This series compliments Rise and Shine (RAS) Yoga which runs September - June, though no specific yoga experience is required. Those who are new to yoga and/or strength and conditioning are welcome as long as there are no contraindications for engaging in physical activity. Each participant is encouraged to participate to the best of their own ability.
Some examples of the exercises are: squats, core stability exercises, hand weights/dumbbell exercises, pushups, plank variations, glute bridges, sit ups, lateral lunges, and more! We will be spending time doing exercises on the mat as well as standing.
The equipment that will be demonstrated but is optional for participants: yoga ball, yoga blocks, yoga strap, resistance band, dumbbells or hand weights (anything from 2 lbs – 10 lbs suggested), and a mat.
This series is offered by certified yoga instructor Danielle Casioppo, who also leads the Rise and Shine yoga sessions.
