Establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries is essential for well-being and is a vital form of self-care. Boundaries are what people create, consciously or unconsciously, in order to engage with the world and other people. Boundaries can be physical, psychological, emotional or spiritual. Consciously creating healthy boundaries allows us to interact with the world in way that is informed by our deepest needs and values. However, there are times when we may not realize we have a boundary until we feel it’s being crossed and then react in a defensive or unskillful way. This can cause stress and may damage relationships.
Participants in this session will:
• Explore ways to identify boundaries and their qualities.
• Discover strategies for maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Learn communication tips that empower while showing compassion.
This 45 minute workshop is presented by Danielle Casioppo, MS, MHFA-C, Education Specialist, Coordinator, Certified Mindful Change Coach and Certified MBSP instructor with Being Well at Yale.
